Looking ahead to 2025: A word from our CEO

Hey everyone! As I sit down to write this, I can’t help but feel a mix of gratitude, excitement, and a little disbelief at how far we’ve come. Back in 2023, when my friends suggested I run a tournament for low Elo players, I never in my wildest dreams thought it would lead to this. That first event lit a spark—not just in me, but in the OCE community—and that spark has grown into something truly special.

Over the past year, I’ve learned so much, met so many amazing people, and grown in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Noob Esports started as a small idea, a fun way to bring people together, and now it’s a registered organization. Wild, right? It just goes to show that if you’ve got a dream and you’re willing to put in the work, you can make it happen. I’m not a big streamer or someone with a massive following—I’m just a regular person who decided to try. And if I can do it, so can you.

Reflecting on 2024: What We Achieved Together

Looking back, I’m so proud of everything we accomplished last year. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Official Registration: Noob Esports is now an officially registered organisation! That’s a huge milestone that still makes me smile.

  • Core Values: We’ve built Noob Esports around values that matter to me: helping others, enriching the OCE region, creating a safe and inclusive space, and encouraging everyone to aim high.

  • First Big Event: December 2023 saw our first major event, Noob League, and in 2024 we followed it up with the Regional Clash, our first professional-level tournament. Seeing those come to life was incredible.

  • Jingle Frags Tournament: One of the most festive highlights of the year, this event brought so much joy and competitive spirit to our community during the holiday season while raising funds for the Starlight Foundation Australia.

  • Bi-Monthly Activities: From Swiftplay tournaments to community nights, we’ve kept the community active with fun and engaging events.

  • Amazing Team: We’ve grown a small but dedicated team of volunteers who believe in the vision of Noob Esports as much as I do. They’re the real MVPs.

None of this would have been possible without all of you—the community, the volunteers, and our supporters. You’re what makes Noob Esports what it is.

Goals for 2025: Keeping the Momentum

Now, let’s talk about what’s next! Here’s what I’m excited to focus on in 2025:

  • More Events: We’re aiming to run at least one event every month—whether it’s a community-driven tournament or something we organize ourselves.

  • Building the Community: Growing and strengthening our community is always a top priority. You’re the heart of Noob Esports.

  • Collaborations: We want to connect with more organizations and work together to make esports even better in our region.

  • Giving Back: Hosting more charity events to support causes we care about.

  • Game Changers: This is a big one for me. As a woman in esports, I’m passionate about creating more opportunities for women and marginalized genders. I want Game Changers events to be a cornerstone of what we do.

  • Staying Connected: We’re launching a monthly newsletter to keep everyone in the loop and share all the exciting things we’re working on; as well as interviews and content from professionals in the esports space.

A Message to Dreamers

Starting Noob Esports has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It’s taught me that big things often start small. I’m just a regular person who decided to take a chance, and I’m so glad I did. If you have a dream, don’t be afraid to chase it. Take a little time each week to work toward it, and you might be surprised at where it takes you.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey so far. Your support means the world to me. Here’s to an amazing 2025—I can’t wait to see what we achieve together!
